Gem Mining in North Carolina is Great Fun at The Greater Foscoe Mining Company and Facets

Thank you for logging on to our website and for your interest in visiting our NC gem mining facility and gallery, featuring one-of-a-kind custom designed jewelry. Whether you’re a newcomer or a returning patron, you’ll be sure to enjoy what we have to offer at the Greater Foscoe Mining Company and Facets of Foscoe.

We are open for indoor and outdoor flume NC Gem mining in the spring through the fall, seven days a week, from 10am until 5pm and 10am to 4pm during the winter months (please call ahead in the winter months as we may be closed due to weather). If you are unable to travel to the High Country, buckets may be shipped to your home address so you can still enjoy the fun of mining your own gems.

Gemologists are located on site along with Kenneth Pickett, proprietor, a master metal smith specializing in 14kt yellow and white gold, custom and prefabricated settings. We also offer platinum and sterling silver settings for you to choose from for your custom handcrafted piece of jewelry. We ask that groups of 10 or more call in advance to insure your wait will be limited.
